Person Centred Counsellor

Sandra is a Registered Member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) having retrained to become a Person Centred Counsellor with a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Strathclyde in 2018.

Prior to that, Sandra spent 2 years as a volunteer befriender with a UK-wide family support charity, 16 years being a full-time stay-at-home mum to her three children and 14 years in the world of engineering studying and then working in research and latterly industry.  As a result she holds a BEng (Hons) in Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering and a PhD in Intelligent Computer Aided Design both from the University of Strathclyde.

Sandra offers 4 years of post-qualifying experience having worked with children and young people aged 6 to 17 in primary and secondary schools settings with Place2Be and Lifelink, and adults aged 18-70 in a generic counselling service and university-based research counselling clinic. She currently works part-time with Therapy Train Stirling (TTS) as an counsellor and trainer.

Sandra feels working in the field of counselling as a counsellor and trainer is a great privilege.  It is more than a job; it is deeply satisfying and fulfilling work as it allows the whole of her way of being to be expressed.  She welcomes you to get in touch and offers a free 30 minute initial consultation to discuss what you’d like to get out of counselling and check out if both of you are likely to be a good fit for working together.
