Profile Information
I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I hold an MA in Psychology from Glasgow University, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
I work with clients who are experiencing all types of anxiety, including social anxiety, phobias, OCD, panic, health anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder, and have a particular interest in low self-esteem and how it can affect our day to day lives. I work with clients experiencing depression and low mood, and more recently have undergone training in ADHD coaching and support.
I approach my work with an open mind, a genuine acceptance and warmth, and where appropriate, a sense of humour. I have worked in a variety of settings in my career, including education and hospitality, and bring a wealth of life experience to our work together. I am also a parent to 2 teenage children.
My approach to therapy is unique for each client. We work collaboratively, considering your own life experiences, the difficulties you are currently facing, and the goals that you want to achieve. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and am qualified to work with teenagers aged 16 and above.
I appreciate that taking the first steps to therapy can feel daunting and overwhelming. I am very happy to have a short phone call with you before we meet, to ensure we feel comfortable working together, and to address any questions or concerns you may have.
I am available at various times throughout the week for both daytime and evening face to face appointments. I can also offer online therapy via zoom and am flexible regarding appointment times.
