Profile Information

Dr Ailsa O’Shea is a warm and experienced Clinical Psychologist, with over 12 years’ experience in NHS psychology services. She has a particular clinical interest in working with adults who have experienced trauma or distressing life events. Ailsa offers a safe and compassionate space, to help you make sense of and process your experiences, at a pace that feels manageable. She also supports adults experiencing a wide range of other difficulties, including anxiety, OCD, phobias, depression, stress and burnout, and disordered eating. Alongside her private practice, Ailsa has a wealth of experience working with adults with learning disabilities and other neurodevelopmental conditions, within a specialist NHS service.

Ailsa offers evidence-based therapies for adults (18+), including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT); and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). Her clinical work is also informed by her expertise in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She has completed additional training in adapting psychological therapies for neurodivergent adults; and tailors her approach, to meet individual needs.

Dr O’Shea is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC; registration number PYL35984). She offers face-to-face sessions to self-funding clients; and can provide a free 15-minute initial telephone consultation to explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
