Profile Information
Anna is an experienced clinician psychiatrist with a career-long commitment to psychotherapy practice.
Her approach is warm and empathetic. She believes connection and relationships with others are what help people get better. Telling one’s life story to a person who cares can be healing too.
Anna completed her psychiatric training in Russia in 2003. She has worked in NHS Mental Health Services since 2015, initially as an International Fellow in Addictions Psychiatry and later as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist in NHS Ayrshire and Arran. She currently works in Glasgow Mental Health Services in a specialist psychiatrist role.
Anna blends trauma-informed psychotherapy modalities, including EMDR and Internal Family Systems, with Gestalt Psychotherapy and narrative practice in her work.
Anna welcomes people experiencing psychological suffering in all its forms, with a particular interest in psychological trauma, difficult or abusive relationships, separation/divorce, abandonment fears and circumstances where the focus is on existential questions of meaning, belonging, and finding one’s place in a new culture after immigration.
Anna also offers Wild Therapy outdoors. She believes a relationship with nature can be a source of support, meaning-making, and resilience.
Much of what she brings to her work is informed not only by her professional experience and training, but also by her lived experience. If this way of working resonates with you, please get in touch for a free initial telephone conversation.
