Profile Information
Lorna is a qualified cognitive behavioural therapist (CBT) and groupwork facilitator
and a registered member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy
(BACP). She would like to offer you a safe, accepting space, where you can work together
to explore what is troubling you. Cognitive behavioural therapy is evidence-based
and can help you to overcome negative thinking patterns and reduce symptoms
of anxiety or low mood, while increasing your sense of self-worth. CBT has proven
to be an effective treatment for a wide range of issues including:
anxiety; stress; phobias; low mood and trauma.
Lorna has worked within the social care sector for over twenty-five years,
supporting people both in times of crisis and when they are struggling to make
sense of their lives and she would be privileged to work alongside you in your
journey of self-discovery and improved emotional wellbeing.
As a parent of two grown up neurodiverse daughters (AS and ADHD) she is aware
of some of the challenges faced by both individuals and the wider family. Lorna knows
from personal experience that starting therapy is a big decision which can be scary.
She is happy for you to contact her for a chat and will answer any questions you may have,
to help you decide if you wish to go ahead.
