Profile Information

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. You might be struggling with anxiety, low mood or difficult experiences, or finding yourself at a crossroads and unsure what comes next. You may also feel that you are coping on the outside while carrying much more than others realise.

I’m Stephen, a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and founder of The Tuesday Chapter, a therapy and personal development practice supporting adults aged 18 and over. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can speak openly, make sense of what you are experiencing and work towards changes that matter to you.

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which explores the connections between our thoughts, emotions, physical responses and behaviour. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical ways to move forward. Sessions are shaped around your circumstances, priorities and pace, with space both to talk and to put new learning into practice.

I work with concerns including anxiety, low mood, stress, low confidence, relationship difficulties and life transitions. I also support personal development, including exploring purpose, navigating career changes and building confidence in leadership, sport and everyday life. We will agree a clear focus together, whether you are seeking therapy for emotional difficulties or support with a personal development goal.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the emergency services. That experience gave me an appreciation of responsibility, pressure and the emotional demands of supporting others. My background also includes leadership and management training and study in psychotherapy applied to sports and life coaching.

During my counselling training and placements, I supported people in community, education and supported accommodation settings, including people living with multiple sclerosis. These experiences reinforced my belief that effective support starts with understanding the person and the context of their life.

I am an individual member of BACP and hold professional indemnity insurance.

The Tuesday Chapter is built on a simple belief: people deserve to feel heard, understood and supported as they take their next steps. You do not need to have everything worked out before getting in touch.
