Profile Information

Tamara is a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP), meaning that she is trained and qualified in providing psychological assessment and interventions with children, young people and families experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Tamara completed her MSc in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People at the University of Edinburgh in 2018. Since qualifying she has worked across NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). She recently joined Southside Child Psychology private practice in 2024, which is an independent psychology practice she runs with her colleague Elaine Barber.


Tamara has experience supporting clients with a range of mild to moderate mental health difficulties, including, anxiety, OCD, phobias, low mood, single event trauma, emotional dysregulation, and tics. Tamara has experience working with neurodevelopmental differences including, Autism, Learning Disability, and ADHD and will provide adapted interventions to suit the needs of children, young people and their families.


In her clinical practice she draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Habit Reversal for treatment of tics, and Behavioural Therapy (BA) for low mood. Parenting support is also offered, predominately using Incredible Years or Triple P evidence-based parenting interventions. Tamara prides herself on having a compassionate and child-centre approach to therapy, she works collaboratively with children, young people and their families offering a safe and containing therapeutic space. Tamara aims to build a strong and approachable therapeutic relationship to allow children and young people better understand their difficulties, and find helpful solutions to improve their mental health.


Tamara offers face to face appointments at The Loft in Clarkston, in addition to online video appointments. A free, 15 minute, no obligation telephone consultation is offered prior to any appointments being arranged.
