Profile Information

Veronica is a registered psychotherapist qualified to Master's level with over thirty years'

experience as a therapist, supervisor and trainer. She is a Senior Accredited member of the

British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Organisational Therapist

with The Association of Psychodynamic Psychotherapists in Organisational Settings

(APPCIOS).

Veronica provides psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, children and parents

experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Throughout her career

within mental health services, she has worked extensively in the field of trauma recovery and is

particularly interested in understanding how earlier experiences shape our emotional lives,

relationships and patterns of behaviour. This work has further informed her understanding of the

profound impact trauma can have on the mind, body, relationships and sense of self.

Veronica's approach is collaborative, and compassionate working alongside clients to make

sense of their experiences, understand the origins of their difficulties and identify meaningful

ways forward.

She also offers clinical supervision to psychodynamic therapists and therapists from other

modalities who are interested in a reflective and analytic approach to their work. As an

Organisational Therapist, she provides therapeutic supervision and reflective practice for

frontline professionals, including social workers and practitioners working in emotionally

demanding settings.

Specialisms

Veronica has a particular interest in the emotional challenges that arise throughout the

developmental lifespan. She works with individuals and families navigating the transitions of

infancy, childhood, adolescence and adulthood, including pregnancy and the postnatal period,

weaning, separation anxiety, school transitions, university life and the often difficult journey into

independent adulthood.

Her work also encompasses the challenges of relationships, intimacy, sexuality, parenthood,

loss, ageing and menopause. She is especially interested in those moments when life is

disrupted by trauma, loss, illness or significant change, and how these experiences can affect

emotional development, wellbeing and our sense of who we are.

At the heart of Veronica's work is a belief that people's struggles make sense when understood

in the context of what they have experienced. Together, therapist and client explore how coping

strategies, emotional responses and patterns of relating that were once necessary for survival

may continue to shape present difficulties. With curiosity and compassion, therapy provides an

opportunity to understand what happened, what may have been missing, and how earlier

experiences continue to influence life today. Through this process, clients can begin to heal from

emotional wounds, develop new ways of relating to themselves and others, and move towards a

fuller and more satisfying life.
